Peller Estates Andrew Peller Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaIt's a rare vintage that fully ripens cabernet sauvignon in Canada but 2010 was a good one in Niagara. Look for a smoky balsamic, resin, coffee nose with bits of chocolate, cassis and a large dollop of oak some three and half years down the road. The fruit is currently overwhelmed by the oak but may well emerge over the next three years. The textures are rich, long and spicy but as mentioned the fruit remains under a layer of wood. I would lay this away for three or four more years or if it's to be served now it is best paired with a robust spiced and grilled leg of lamb.Tasted: 31 March 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:ON | $40.00 | 750ml | Vintages |
