Louis Roederer Brut Vintage Champagne 2007

Champagne, FranceAt Roederer the 2007 Vintage Brut is describes as 'a fine expression of the 'measured' power of the Pinot Noir, in a subtle balance of smoothness and richness, instinctively balanced by freshness and lightness." The mix is 70/30 pinot noir to chardonnay that spends four years in the cellar; thirty per cent of the wine is aged in wood. There is a silky creamy brioche note on the palate but with idiosyncrasies of a vintage characterized by a warm start, a cool middle and followed by drought and then an ideal harvest. Currently edgy on entry with hints of apples pears and hazelnuts and an even more subtle note of earth. Best with food at this point and another five to seven years of bottle age.Tasted: 09 March 2014Tasted by: Prices:
