Vina Bujanda Rioja Reserva 2006
Rioja, SpainClassic Old World tempranillo from the acclaimed Martinez-Bujanda family. They fruit comes off more than a dozen sites in the Rioja Alavesa and Alta from 20-60-year old vines. It's aged in French and American oak for 20 months giving it a distinctive Rioja demeanour along with a dash of brettanomyces. The attack is silky smooth and rich with dark red fruits and notes of wild strawberry, dried herbs over savoury smoky undertones. Round and smooth but with a pronounced meaty finish. Best with grilled lamb.Tasted: 05 February 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $24.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Altus Wines |
