Domaine de Nalys Chateauneuf-du-Pape Classique Red 2009

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceNot your average big, super ripe Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The attack is drier and more aromatic with less sweet red fruit and more balsamic, earthy, black liquorice notes. The blend is just over one half grenache and about a quarter syrah followed by mourvèdre, cinsault and the rest all 13 varieties permitted in Châteauneuf-du-Pape all in in large vats and concrete. Quiet studious and perfect for roast chicken.Tasted: 10 February 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
