Vins de Pedra L'Orni 2012
Conca de Barbera, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainVins de Pedra is the family winery winemaker Marta Pedra, oenologist at La Vinyeta (Empordà). L'Orni is a remarkable chardonnay made with 15-year old vines, planted at 350 metres above sea level. The calcareous soils are the perfect foil for this sophisticated white with its stony, peachy aromas flavours with bits of honey and brioche. Six month of battonage add a texture and depth to the wine that surprises. The finish is persistent with exotic flecks of orange peel. A well-made chardonnay that would disappear in nay global tasting of fine bottles. The winery suggest beans and pulses, grilled white fish or spicy fish stews.
