La Vinyeta Llavors 2012
Alt Emporda, Empordà, Ampurdain-Costa Brava, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainLlavors, no not flavors, is the continuation of the story at La Vinyeta and in this case meaning ... and then. The blend is a mix of mostly samsó and merlot with a bit of fortification from cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. Following the theme it is all handpicked from 50-year old vineyards but this time with five months ageing in new French, Hungarian and Romanian oak. Love the nose again a mix of red and dark fruits with plenty of floral/violet notes bits of coffee and liquorice. An aromatic expression of a Bordelais style with a smoky spicy back end.
