La Vinyeta Heus Rosat 2012
Alt Emporda, Empordà, Ampurdain-Costa Brava, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThe Empordà-based bodega's name is a play on the Catalan words for vineyard and comic strip. The wines are the chapters, and in this case the Heus series, come from the expression Heus aquí una vegada or once upon a time. The rosé or rosat is a 46/21/17/16 mix of garnatxa, samsó, merlot and syrah. The old vines are the samsó or carignan planted on the schist and quartz. The attack is soft and sweetish with notes of caramel and fresh red fruits. It's a gulp-able style pink that is food friendly with a persistent finish. Try this with tuna sushi cones.Tasted: 26 January 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:Spain | $6.00 | 750ml | srp Euros |
