Zuccardi Aluvional La Consulta 2010

La Consulta, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThis Aluvional is made from several handpicked sites by winemaker Sebastian Zuccardi in the La Consulta, San Carlos region grown at 990 metres above sea level some 130 km south of Mendoza city. The vines were planted in 1974 on poor alluvial soils of sandy-silt-clay mixed with rock. There is no shortage of alcohol here at 15+ but you don't really notice it because the fruit is so outstanding. A complex rich, powerful red awash in floral fruit with an extensive, rounded palate. Don't touch this for a decade.Tasted: 10 December 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
