Zuccardi Aluvional El Peral 2009

Tupungato, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThe El Peral Aluvional is malbec grown at 1150m above sea level on alluvial soils of silt, sand and clay. The wine is aged in first, second and third use medium toasted French barrels. Like its kin the nose is awash in spicy minerality and intense red fruits. The palate is equally enticing with black fruits, licorice flecked with spice before a whack of sweet tannins kick in with black pepper, vanilla and savoury flavour. Elegant, stately and balanced with a concentrated finish that is so much more interesting than most malbec we see from Argentina.Tasted: 10 December 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
