Pentâge Winery Mourvèdre 2011

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMourvèdre won't be an easy sell but this first edition from Pentâge will garner some fans. The nose is a bit sweet if not candied with more typical smoky meaty undercurrents. The palate is soft with ripe candied, black fruit flavours with a savoury, acidic, meaty undercurrent. Pleasant style for the normally rugged mourvèdre no doubt something to do with young vines. Try it with grilled meats. Tasted: 20 December 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
