Freixenet Brut Vintage Reserva 2011
Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainBrut Reserva is Freixenet's top sparkler and it is only released in the finest years. The style is dry the cuvee a 50/30/20 mix of macabeo, xarel-lo and parellada. Expect tiny bubbles or creamy mousse with bright fresh citrus, lime, green apple and pear flavours. Austere yet friendly with bits of brioche and minerality. The winery suggests aged cheddar or Spanish Manchego cheese would be a fine match. So would mushroom risotto. Classy bubble.
