Priorato, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThe top cuvee Clos Galena is a mix of organic fruit chosen from five out of 14 parcels. The wine is aged for one year in 90/10 French and American oak barrels. The blend is 0/20/20/20 garnacha, cabernet sauvignon, cariñena and syrah. The 2008 is a warmer richer year than 2009 and it's reflected in the warmth and generosity of this wine. It has all the muscular tannins and rich mineral notes but the fruit is riper deeper and denser and is more fun to drink even at this point some ten years from its peak. Best now with grilled lamb or your favourite steak.
