Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato 2010
Verona, Veneto, ItalyThe di Lugana is made with the oldest trebbiano vines in the Podere Massoni vineyard. The flagship white is aged on French oak but not in an overt way. The nose is ripe mixing honey, peach, dried fruit nutty aromas with tropical fruit flecks and ginger. In some ways it is reminiscent of viognier. The palate is rich and creamy with peachy floral spicy fruit with a squeeze of citrus. Now it reminds us of a riche buttery chardonnay. Best with roast chicken or veal. The wine is fermented in barriques for 3 weeks and matured in small new oak for 4 months. it then spends 6 months in stainless steel and 6 months in bottle.Tasted: 29 November 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $35.00 | 750ml | |
