Gérard Bertrand Grand Terroir La Clape Syrah-Carignan-Mourvèdre 2011

Coteaux du Languedoc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThe Grand Terroir of la Clape is limestone and you can feel it in the wine. The nose is a complex mix of garrigue, intense dark fruit aromas with stony floral notes. The style is tight but with plenty of juicy black fruit flavours and power. A highly collectible red that is very food-friendly and would be perfect with lamb, whole roasted chicken or rich cheeses. Impressive red wine for the money with its complexity and intensity.Tasted: 29 November 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
