Finca Villacreces Pruno 2011

Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainThe problem with this wine is the crazy Parker score it has to lug around. The 2010 scored 94 points but this 2011 is aways away from that even if the vineyard is next door to Vega Sicilia, but at 88 its terrific red wine. Black fruit with floral, stony, mineral notes entice. The palate is smooth with some rustic tannins poking through the backend. It's nothing a piece of grilled meat wouldn't subdue easily. It will likely improve in bottle with 12 to 18 months of time.Tasted: 17 November 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
