Castello di Querceto Cignale 2007

Tuscany, ItalyA massive IGT from central Tuscany that blends cabernet sauvignon and merlot in a 90/10 ratio. The Ponticini-Sorgente vineyard faces south-east at roughly 500 metres the vines are 39 years old. The nose is big and explosive with fresh hints of red and black fruits with big stony whiffs of minerality. Surprisingly elegant despite a savoury wild side that suggest you could age this for a decade more. Complicated. Wild boar stew, roast game or anything equally big.Tasted: 24 November 2013Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
