Birks Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Clare Valley, South Australia, AustraliaOne of the lightest in colour. The nose is fresh and youthful showing simple but intense primary fruit. The palate is similar with leafy, cassis, red fruit and spice notes with a sprinkling of chocolate. It has bit of that sweet and sour aspect and it finishes fairly dry. Solid but not in the same league as the upper half of wines in the tasting. The blend is an unusual 60/40 mix of cabernet sauvignon and malbec.
