La Croix de Beaucaillou 2010
St. Julien, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceThis second effort is made from specific vineyard portions and lesser barrels now, not just younger vines. It has a smoky, tobacco, cedar, black olive nose with bits of cassis, saddle leather and black pepper aromas. Round, full, somewhat dry and hollow but good finesse and acidity balance. Smoky coffee, peppery, vanilla, licorice, olive, tobacco, leather, cassis and earth flavours. Quite oaky now with edgy tannins on the finish, needs 3-5 years. Try this with roast beef for best effect.Tasted: 14 October 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $100.00 | 750ml |
