Chateau Haut Bailly 2010

Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceThe nose is tight showing black olive, tobacco, herbal, coffee, graphite aromas flecked with earthy, five-spice, leather, curry, anise and green tea aromas. The attack is dry if tight for a modern Bordeaux with a slightly austere and astringent palate. Peppery, earthy, coffee, cedar, tobacco, iron, resin, curry, smoky pepper and vanilla flavours. Quite closed and warm but full and austere with some green notes. The blend is 62/36/2 cabernet sauvignon/merlot/cabernet franc but this need another five to ten years to settle in to itself. An excellent effort but not quite as good as the super fine 2009.Tasted: 25 September 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
