Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, California, United StatesIt has been a while since we have seen the Roederer Estate Brut multi-vintage sparkler, but it is simply better than ever. Set among the fog in Mendocino County's Anderson Valley, it is a sparkling California star. The owners Champagne Louis Roederer know a thing or two about making sparkling wine, and the latest edition is outstanding. The fruit is estate grown and subject to a meticulous vineyard regime. Each year oak aged wine from the estate's reserve cellars is added to the blend, creating a multi-vintage cuvée in the traditional Roederer style. The attack is lively with enticing pear and hazelnut dusted in complex, tasty lees. Long and intense, this is a winner. The blend is 60/40 chardonnay/pinot noir aged a minimum of two years on the lees.Tasted: 18 October 2021Tasted by: Prices:
Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, California, United StatesA consistent performer with fine mousse. Citrus, baked green apple, floral, pear, light toast aromas on the nose. Fresh, creamy, fine mousse palate with good acidity and a drier brut sweetness for fine balance. Finishes with good baked green apple, spicy, lemon, nutty, light pear flavours.Tasted: 06 August 2013Tasted by: Prices:
Anderson Valley, Mendocino County, California, United StatesLove the fine, continuous mousse. Look for fresh lemon zest, green apple, mineral and creamy, toasty aromas. Dry, somewhat austere entry with bright lemon, toasted, nut and baked green apple flavours. Fine elegance with creamy mousse textures but all in a much leaner style that is best served with food like oysters or razor clams.Tasted: 29 November 2005Tasted by: Prices:
