Poggiotondo Chianti Cerro del Massio 2011
Tuscany, ItalyIt's difficult not to like this style of sangiovese if understated and graceful are part of your wine drinking habits. Led by refreshing acidity Antonini mixes the perfect proportion of black cherry fruit with a dash of spice and minerality. There's a sophisticated mix of 20% merlot, syrah and colorino grapes in the blend to smooth out the mid-plate textures but the wine remains lively, fresh and most of all Antonini elegant. Try this with a Margherita pizza or a simple mushroom and olive oil dish. A steal.
