Marisco Vineyards The Kings Thorn Pinot Gris 2012

Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandThe 2012 vintage was classic cool climate in Marlborough. Ten percent of the wine is fermented in 500L French oak puncheons to add weight and richness to the mix. The nose is quite floral with stone fruit and spice edging. The attack is smooth and satiny with ripe nectarine/white peach flavours with a sweet citrus aftertaste. The winery recommends pancetta wrapped scallops, liver pâté, or spicy Asian noodles. We say avocado sushi rolls.Tasted: 06 August 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
