Familia Castaño C Monastrell Vinas Viejas en Altura 2012
Yecla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainGrown at 750 metres above sea level the vineyard is on limestone and the vines are thirty years old. The nose is fresh and floral with bright, peppery red fruit nuances. The attack is juicy (20 percent carbonic) and fun with candied plums and black raspberries flavours with liquorice root, cocoa and resiny cedar notes. Seriously honest red wine for hamburgers and other grilled meats.Tasted: 05 August 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $12.50 | 750ml | specialty listing |
