Alvear Señorío de Alange Ensamblaje 2009
Ribera del Guadiana, Extremadura and the Southwest, SpainIt's the first time I've seen this blend of tempranillo, grenache and syrah. The nose is meaty and slightly reduced (syrah) with cedar bark and black cherry notes. The attack is soft with supple tannins and ripe, warm sweet black fruit flavours and a dollop of vanilla with just enough acidity to keep it all together. Good value. Try this with roasted chicken.Tasted: 01 July 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $20.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
