Mazzei Belguardo Rosé 2011
Maremma, Tuscany, ItalySyrah and sangiovese seem strange bedfellows but they work in this tasty Tuscan rosé that like very few of its contemporaries is grown in the vineyard to be a rosé. The mix is 50/50 and somehow the grapes work together along with a touch of wood to lend some body to the mid-palate and to balance the fruit and acidity. Most summer dishes work here as does grilled chicken and mild curries.
