P+S Chryseia 2008
Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalChryseia is made with upper Douro Valley fruit and seven years down the road the mix is almost 50/50 touriga nacional and touriga planted on mostly schist and now approaching forty years of age and sourced from the Symington family Quintas of Vila Velha, Bomfim, Vesuvio and P+S's Quinta de Perdiz. Love the elegance here and the savoury, floral liquorice aromas. The '08 is more about restraint and finesse and you can see the hand of Prats in this vintage. The palate is similar with round, supple blackberry/raspberry fruit, small-grained tannins and an undercurrent of stony minerality. Love the balance should age gracefully for another decade.Tasted: 03 May 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:QC | $73.00 | 750ml | |
