Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandLemon blossoms, pear and shearing green apple open this Marlborough traditional method fizz, 100 percent chardonnay, but not labelled blanc de blanc (in line with the Keep It Simple Stupid camp). Tight and lively, with dusty stone, lemon, a light sweet pear core and overt pithy white grapefruit throughout. Leaves a powdery citrus note on the finish.Tasted: 12 July 2016Tasted by: Prices:
Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandI must say I was surprised by the elegance of this wine. Clearly finesse and mouthfeel were in the game plan. The fruit is just right not too bright, nor too distant, and there is even a hint of minerality in what is a 100 percent chardonnay sparkler. A refreshing mix of crunchy fruit, red apple, with citrus and just a hint of yeasty/toast for complexity. Well done.Tasted: 26 May 2013Tasted by: Prices:
