Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera 2011

Piedmont, ItalyLove the way this wine is evolving under screwcap. The nose is fresh and packed full of juicy black cherry jam, red liquorice and earthy, savoury aromas. The attack is juicy, the palate supple with peppery, black cherry jam, blood orange, meat, licorice, tobacco and tar flavours. Fresh, fruity, attractive forward style. Impressive, modern red that respects the tradition of Piemonte and barbera. Solid value here for any level of consumer and a steal at $18. Grilled chicken or mushroom risotto are great matches.Tasted: 03 May 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
