Dare Part of Viader Cabernet Franc 2010
Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, California, United StatesThe first Dare was released in 2003 by owner Delia Viader to celebrate her love of the varietal. Franc is widely planted today in Napa but few have dared to released a 100 percent version. Dare by Viader 2010 is classically aromatic with bits of sweet liquorice, dried herbs and savoury threads. The palate is not quite as succulent as it can be, likely vintage related with red fruits, cocoa and a glossy underbelly that finishes with another dusting of dried herbs and tobacco. A good effort in a tough year for franc.Tasted: 22 April 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:MB | $43.00 | 750ml | |
