Joseph Phelps Sauvignon Blanc 2010
Napa Valley, California, United StatesGrapes are picked at average 21.9˚ Brix and are barrel fermented with native yeast. It is aged for eight months in 30% new French oak puncheons and 70% one- to two-year-old French oak puncheons but you don't feel the oak at all. There is lots of fresh lime, floral, tropical fruit notes up front with creamy textures throughout. Surprisingly elegant for St Helena fruit. Perfect with Arctic char and blood orange but mussels would be a fine match too. The 2011 growing season was cool and this sauvignon is definitely a happy result of that.Tasted: 08 March 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $50.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Trialto |
