GermanyThis riesling is produced in the Charmat method in an extra-dry style, with 19 g/L residual sugar. It shows a classic, if not overly complex, riesling nose of lime and white flowers, though it lacks the intense aromatics that sparkling Riesling can sometimes have, with little to no biscuity autolytic character. The mousse is somewhat frothy and the noticeable sweetness masks the underlying racy acidity. The result is a simple, aperitif-style of sparkling wine that’s fairly priced and will certainly appeal to fans of Prosecco. I’d try this with sushi.Tasted: 11 January 2020Tasted by: Prices:
GermanyAmply frothy, amply sweet sums up this charmat method riesling from German's famous Loosen Bros. Though this is labelled Sec (dry) it rides a wave of residual sugar that carries candied peach, pear, candy necklace, pink grapefruit and perfumed melon to a snappy finish. Acidity is shining, which is welcome. Needs be chilled well, and might find its best use in cocktails.Tasted: 10 October 2018Tasted by: Prices:
GermanySekt as the Germans refer to sparkling wine is something they drink more than anyone else in the world and when it's made from riesling it can be sublime. The Dr. L bubble is 100% riesling so you can expect a fresh, crisp, steely, bright fruity style with just a hint of a touch of sweetness. You will love the juicy palate and clean crisp finish. The suggested match is a wealth of Thai dishes featuring coconut milk or cream.Tasted: 15 March 2013Tasted by: Prices:
GermanyI'm seldom intrigued by wines that distributors ask their clients to produce for them but the Loosen sparkler is a good idea. Sekt as the Germans refer to sparkling wine is something they drink more than anyone else in the world so they do know bubble. The Dr. L Sparkling Riesling is 100% riesling so you can expect a super fresh, crisp, steely fruit bubble with a touch of sweetness. We like its juicy demeanour on the palate and expect you will too.Tasted: 07 October 2011Tasted by: Prices:
