Treviso, Verona, Veneto, ItalyBottega Gold is distinctively decked out in its baked on gold packaging but do not let its shiny exterior throw you off; the wine is every bit as impressive as its packaging. The fruit is all glera from the hills of the Treviso DOCG region in the Veneto. It gets a lengthy primary ferment with some important lees contact before it undergoes a secondary ferment via the Charmat tank process. Its 10-12 grams of residual sugar gives its peachy, pear, melon a ripe demeanour that is quickly balanced off by its lightly fizzy palate. Owner Sandro Boscaiani is an exacting master, and every bottle of Bottega is made with extreme care and attention. It is a perfect holiday wine to serve with appetizers and drop-in guests.Tasted: 29 April 2021Tasted by: Prices:

Treviso, Verona, Veneto, ItalyEven though the distinctively blinged out and trademarked mirror packaging for Bottega Gold doesn't carry DOCG on the label, it is entirely DOCG quality fruit. A quirk in the appellation laws (Italy!) dictate that the bottle has to be made of clear glass in a limited range of shades. This glera comes from the hills of Treviso, and is fermented long and cool, partially native, before some time on lees prior to heading to the Charmat tanks for secondary ferment. It was dosed as brut, with 10-12 g/L. Potent and forward with yellow apple, perfumed white peach, pear blossoms, and white melon across a lightly frizzante palate. Lovely balance here in this friendly wine, with all the parts (acid, sugar, fruit) in harmony for drinking now.Tasted: 03 May 2021Tasted by: Prices:

A quirk in the appellation laws dictate that the bottle has to be made of clear glass in a limited range of shades. Blingy, to be sure, but it's what inside that counts. Very concentrated nose, with yellow apple, ripe pear and light toast throughout the creamy, gently frothy palate, and a perfumed floral note that floats the finish. Presents on the upper sweetness level for Brut. Unlike most Charmat-produced Prosecco, Bottega Gold is made from Glera grapes, but unlike standard Proseccos, it is produced to order via a single fermentation in the winery's specialized pressurized cuve close tanks for forty days.Tasted: 29 February 2016Tasted by: Prices:

Treviso, Verona, Veneto, ItalyThe golden bottle looks gimmicky but it does protect the wine from light preserving freshness and extending bottle life. Look for floral, pear, peach skin, baked citrus aromas. Fresh, creamy, slightly foamy palate with baked pear, citrus rind, peach, almond and apple skin flavours. It is made in the Charmat method yet remains restrained in style with a drier profile that suggests it is harmonious with food.Tasted: 04 March 2013Tasted by: Prices:
