Schug Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Sonoma County, California, United StatesCalifornia sauvignon is often uninspiring but not this bottle. Walter Schug seems to understand the essence of freshness, minerality and electricity and he has all three running through this bottle. It's a blend of three sites: 56% Leveroni Vineyard; 33% Hi-Vista Vineyard; 11% Grossi Vineyard pick from September 26 through October 17. A mix of mostly sur-lie neutral wood fermented juice (84%) with a small stainless steel portion. Look for bright flavours of grapefruit, nectarine and lime with fresh acidity. Mussels, clams and summer salads would all be great pairings.Tasted: 16 February 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $25.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Crush Imports |
