Blackbird Vineyards Arise 2010

Napa Valley, California, United StatesFour vineyards (Blackbird Vineyard - Oak Knoll District, Hudson Vineyard - Carneros, Stagecoach Vineyard - Atop the Vaca Mountains south of Pritchard Hill, Crocker & Starr Vineyard - St. Helena) are behind this black cherry, savoury, earthy, smoky, cedar- scented red with flecks of cranberry, vanilla and celery salt aromas. The attack is full, round and smooth on the palate but still with some youthful tannins to shed. Its juicy acidity and cedar, earthy, espresso, chocolate, vanilla, herbal, tobacco leaf, resin and saddle leather flavours all finish dry and tannic with some dried herb and tea tannin notes. Needs a rare steak now or another two to four years to soften.Tasted: 02 February 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
