Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceThe AdVini group is a family of French brands including among others Ogier in the Rhône Valley. Ogier is based in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and recently launched a quartet of labels that speak to the four distinct terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The 'Expression de Terroir' series is a collection of four cuvées. Each is made using identical winemaking techniques and very similar grape blends mostly grenache with bit of mourvèdre and cinsault. The only difference is the soil hence the Expression de Terroir. This wine is limestone based and you get quite a stony/mineral/wet cement character on the nose and palate. The attack is fresh and round the fruit bright and delicious with bits of earth, forest floor, blueberries and a mix of black fruits. The finish is fresh with perfect acidity and soft silky tannins.
