Henry's Drive Vignerons The Morse Code Chardonnay 2011

Padthaway, South Australia, AustraliaThis is simple stuff. Well made fresh and clean with pure chardonnay fruit flecked with citrus and pear fruit and a hint of nuts and vanilla in the finish. Try this with fish tacos or a chicken salad. The fruit is sourced from the Longbottom family Padthaway vineyards that boast red, loamy soil over limestone. A part of the wine is naturally fermented in new French oak and some 30 percent is matured on lees with battonage for four months for texture and mouthfeel. It's a serous amount of work for such an inexpensive wine. Good value.Tasted: 01 January 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
