Davis Bynum Pinot Noir Jane's Vineyard 2011
Russian River, Sonoma County, California, United StatesAppealing floral, strawberry, raspberry jam aromas spiced with tobacco leaf, carrot top, vanilla, orange peel and forest floor notes. It is round, full, juicy, elegant and smooth on the palate with vanilla, smoky tobacco leaf, pepper, raspberry jam, orange, caraway, liquorice and tea flavours. Fine flavour intensity, texture and length with some elegance. A super effort. The Davis Bynum pinot is a mix of 115, 777, 667, 114, 113, Pommard and 2A grown on the gravelly loams soils of the Santa Rosa Plain in the Russian River Valley. A great pinot value that needs broader distribution in British Columbia.Tasted: 23 January 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $35.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
