Vie Cave 2008
Maremma, Tuscany, ItalyThe Fattoria Aldrobrandesca, an Antinori family property, is located in the southern Maremma. The wine is dedicated to the "vie cave" or ancient Etruscan roads dug into the countryside. After much research malbec was chosen to be grown here and the result is terrific. Expect a medium dark coloured red wine with an intense fresh black fruit and liquorice nose. The attack is similar with spice and tobacco highlighting, spices and tobacco leaf. On the palate it is silky and enveloping with a fine density and persistence. The finish and aftertaste show notes of ripe black fruit, liquorice, coffee, and dark chocolate. Drinkable now it will peak over the next three years.Tasted: 06 December 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $31.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Mark Anthony |
