Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2008

Tuscany, ItalyQuite a big sangiovese bolstered by 10 per cent cabernet. Look for spicy, earthy red cherries flecked with tobacco and dried herbs, liquorice and plenty of acidity. The mid-palate and finish are well polished with minerality and freshness shining through. It is all aged in mostly small French oak barrels and kept separate by vineyard lots before finally coming together in the final blend. Only made in the best vintages this is almost a baby Tignanello. Best with rich dishes like mushroom risotto.Tasted: 06 December 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
