Champagne Henriot Brut Souverain NV

Champagne, FranceHenriot's vineyards have been around since the 1700s, but they didn't begin producing sparkling wine until 1808, when Apolline Henriot began to make wine from her family's lands. Today Henriot is part of Champagne’s largest co.op, Terroirs et Vignerons de Champagne (TEVC). This, Henriot's flagship blends approximately 50% pinot noir, 45% chardonnay, and 5% pinot meunier from 29 crus. This uses 30-50% reserve wines (including part perpetual), and spent at least 3 years sur lattes, disgorged with less than 5 g/L. The up in PN and Chardy is noticeable, as is the bump in reserve wines, and the decrease in dosage, from the last time I tasted 3+ years ago. Flagships are not set in stone, thankfully. My bottle is based on 2018, disgorged in 2022. Ample toasted brioche, lemon curd is cut with crisp green apple and lemon pith, livening the palate, and lingering on the vanillin finish.Tasted: 18 November 2025Tasted by: Prices:
