Champagne, FranceHenriot's vineyards have been around since the 1700s, but they didn't begin producing sparkling wine until 1808, when Apolline Henriot began to make wine from her family's lands. This, their flagship blends 45% pinot noir, 40% chardonnay, and 15% pinot meunier from 29 crus. This uses 30% reserve wines (including part perpetual), and spent at least 3 years sur lattes, disgorged with 7 g/L. Ripe red apple, green apple ride a deep brioche base, with cherry blossoms and fine baking spices scenting. There's a tight lemony brace pinning everything in to the subtly saline, lemony finish. Quite smart, friendly, and classic.Tasted: 25 November 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Champagne, FranceMedium fine mousse. Floral, honey, buttery, toasty, peach, strawberry, nutty, earthy aromas. Creamy, slightly foamy entry in medium brut sweetness. Toasty, nutty, buttery citrus peel, baked pear, apple core and tobacco flavours with a toasty, strawberry finish. Good flavour spectrum and complexity but just a bit coarse.Tasted: 03 December 2012Tasted by: Prices:
