Domaine de la Petite Cassagne 2009
Costières de Nîmes, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThis 30/40/30 organic mix of grenache, syrah and carignan is comes of the south/south-eastern exposed slopes of the Costières de Nîmes. The stony soils deposited by the Rhone River several centuries ago are the key to its success. The flavours are an intense mix of dark fruits, dried herbs and chocolate far beyond its price. Expect a mineral component and just enough tannin to keep tis together through 2015. Beef cassoulet anyone.
