Chateau Pontet Canet 2009
Pauillac, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceSpicy, cassis jam, black berry, compost, tobacco, peppery, savoury, barnyard, vanilla, coffee, waxy, liquorice, meaty aromas with fine complexity. Rich, ripe, full, round and juicy with supple but substantial tannins. Warm and intense with huge cassis, black berry, licorice, tobacco, vanilla, coffee, peppery, plum and cedar flavours. Long, big and concentrated with big tannins and very good acidity. Will need 10-15 years minimum. Great potential but the finish is just a bit coarse especially compared to Margaux. Once of the greats for the vintage. I suppose we should be grateful it is only 4x the 2005 price.Tasted: 05 December 2012Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:BC | $388.00 | 750ml |
