Margaux, Haut-Médoc, Médoc, Bordeaux, FranceFrom the cellar. Margaux with age is still quite a regal thing. In 2009, this was 65 Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, aged in 50% new barrels. Porty plum, baked cherry, and sunripened blackberry is plush on the velveteen palate, hued with the browning of age but still of structure. Ample purple florals float throughout the sweet sapidity, shrouded with furry tannins, and finishing with a faint hum on the fading palate. This bottle has started its downhill slope, so if you also have in your cellar, start dipping in now.Tasted: 02 August 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Elegant with cassis, cedar, cherry, vanilla, savoury, tobacco, meaty, coffee, carrot top flavours. A bit of a green edge to this but has good finesse and length with tannins to age. Needs 3-7 years.
