Mendocino County, California, United StatesThe '07 The Butler is 81/9/6/4 Rhone-style blend of syrah with small amounts of grenache, mourvèdre and petite sirah made by winemaker Bob Blue. The ranch fruit is certified both organic and biodynamic and has been since 1993. The '07 is the first release of this Rhone-style blend that Blue makes using a mix of "the best varietal and vineyard lots kept separate. "The nose is a mix of smoked meat and floral notes. The attack is rich and mildly wild with full-bodied smoky, gamey, black fruit flavours flecked with spice and cherries.
