Quinta do Crasto Crasto Douro Vinho Tinto 2010

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalAlways impressive the latest red from the Roquette family. The nose is a peppery, tobacco, black berry, black plum affair with savoury, meaty, dried fig, chocolate and liquorice aromas. The palate is fresh and dry if a little bit lean and light. Smoky, savoury, chocolate, peppery, liquorice root, black berry, chalky, plum and garrigue flavours fill out the finish. There is fine fruit and flavour intensity but in 2010 it finishes a bit lean. Will be good with lamb stew.Tasted: 18 November 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
