Joseph Drouhin Volnay 2009
Volnay, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FrancePeppery, spicy, light coffee, vanilla, strawberry jam nose with bits of tobacco, liquorice and orange peel. The attack is juicy, the palate supple with light tannins with more smoky, coffee, vanilla, cherry, strawberry jam, pepper, savoury flavours. Good fruit and intensity but oak is somewhat intrusive at this point. This needs another two to three years to stretch its wings. Best now with a whole-roasted chicken.Tasted: 20 November 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $63.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
