Alvear Oloroso Asuncion NV

Montilla-Moriles, SpainThis Oloroso was fortified from the beginning and was then aged in solera but without flor. Very spicy, rancio, nutty, tobacco, tea, dried citrus, butter and dried ginger aromas. Rich, full, round and off dry with good acidity and texture. More of those rancio, walnut, buttery, spicy, peppery, orange peel flavours with flecks of ginger, tobacco and a touch of vanilla. Good length, intensity and smoothness. The sweetness is from added pedro ximénez.Tasted: 28 November 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
