Bolgheri, Maremma, Tuscany, ItalyPodere Orma sits over stony clay soils in one of the revered sections of Bolgheri alongside Ornellaia and not far from Sassicaia yet it is sold only as an IGT Toscana red. The blend is an oh so appealing 40/40/20 cabernet franc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon all grown in a 5.5 hectare vineyard. Orma means footprint or mark and you sense the Bolgheri footprint throughout. The wine is fresh and alive but with substantial texture and size. Expect a mix of red liquorice, spice, mocha and cedar flavours but all with stunning elegance and style.
