Lake Breeze Seven Poplars Pinot Noir 2010

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLake Breeze Vineyards seemed to go quietly about their business on the bench always making technically sound wines but in the last few years winemaker Garron Elmes has really begun to spread his wings making far more interesting versions of classic BC Varieties. Case in point is the crazy delicious 2010 Seven Poplars pinot. Its alluring nose reminiscent of mid-valley fruit draws you into the glass. Spice black raspberry sweet and sour cherry fruit abounds with rooty, earthy mushroom notes underneath to keep it all on track. Round and ripe but pleasingly dry this wine was built for food and contemplation. Turkey would be a fine match or any earthy fall dish.Tasted: 06 October 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
